Beginning Monday, January 12 (7-8:30 PM) and continuing each Monday through March 30, we will be offering a twelve-week discipleship program called Recovering Redemption. This study by Matt Chandler is about recovering whatever may be lost and broken in our lives by the power of the gospel. Christ’s gospel is the remedy to fix all things: every struggle, every circumstance, every relationship, everything.

This study is for all Christians high school and above, for those going through intense circumstances and acute challenges as well as for those looking to truly grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. This study is not for “casual observers.” There is work to be done each week in response to and in preparation for our weekly meetings. Participation in Recovering Redemption will require a commitment to the study, to your weekly attendance at the study, to your fellow participants, but most of all to the God Who’s truly given us redemption through his Son, Jesus Christ.

Here are a few other things to remember about Recovering Redemption…

• Our weekly meetings for Recovering Redemption are not a replacement for our regular Life Groups. There is a different purpose to Life Groups than to Recovering Redemption. In Life Groups, we almost always split our time evenly between discipleship and fellowship, which are both VITAL to your growth in Jesus Christ, and that’s why we encourage all of people to be a part of one of our adult life groups (if you’d like more information on life groups at Gateway, click here!). In Recovering Redemption, however, the great majority of our time will be spent in discipleship. That’s not to say that we won’t have times of fellowship, but we will lean heavily toward helping you grow in your faith through practical learning and discipleship. If this is something you want to do, we welcome you to come along with us.

• Everyone participating in the Recovering Redemption MUST have his/her own workbook. We will provide workbooks at the cost $8 (that’s about half of what you would be paying if you bought it on your own!) Please pay for and pick up your workbook here at church no later than Sunday, January 11.

• You do not have to be a member of or regular attendee at Gateway Community Church events to be a part of Recovering Redemption.

• We thank you for securing your own childcare during the 12 weeks of Recovering Redemption. If several want to go in together to engage and share the services of a babysitter, we can probably point you in the direction of a reliable off-campus sitter.
