We wanted to let you guys know about a ministry opportunity that has come to our congregation right here in Pikeville. Many of you know that Habitat for Humanity is one of our ministry partners here at Gateway, and they are in the process of constructing two homes close to our campus.
They have asked us if we could volunteer at those worksites (105 Stewart Ave and/or 107 Stewart Ave) on Saturday, August 14 (8-11:30 AM).
We are looking for volunteers for that morning, and if you are interested, we'd love to have you join us. Here are a few things to keep in mind.
All volunteers must be age 16 or older (no one under age 16 is permitted on a Habitat worksite)
All volunteers must complete a waiver and bring it to the site that morning (There are two different waivers, one for adults and another for minors. They are also available at Gateway's guest services counter)
All volunteers should dress comfortably, bring sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, bug spray, and a water bottle. Water will be provided on the job site, as well.
All volunteers must wear CLOSED TOES SHOES.
For more information or to reserve your spot on our work roster, please sign up at the guest services counter or get in touch with Matt Worling, one of our Elders at Gateway. (Thanks, Matt, for heading up this project!) You can reach him by email at mworling@yahoo.com.
God bless you all, and we hope to see you on the morning of August 14.
