On Sunday, November 20, Gateway will participate in "The Big Give." Instead of "coming" to church that morning, we'll "be" the church, serving in various parts of our community! Beginning Sunday, October 30, we’ll have signup sheets at the guest services counter to register for specific tasks. Many tasks will be family-friendly, and we welcome children to participate. They include…
Volunteering at the Salvation Army (specific tasks TBD)
Volunteering at a Habitat for Humanity worksite (must be age 16 and sign a waiver)
Worship and fellowship with residents at Countryside Village nursing center in Pikeville
Volunteering at Wayne Pregnancy Center/Cry Freedom Missions (specific tasks TBD)
Working at the free yard sale at Gateway
Yardwork for two of our Gateway families in present need
Making Crafts/Packing Hygiene Kits and Appreciation Gifts for “Communities in Schools” here at Gateway
Litter sweeping, pulling weeds, and planting flowers in downtown Goldsboro
Prepping freezer meals for needy families here at Gateway
We also need donations for hygiene kits (toothpaste, tooth brushes, bars of soap, washcloths and deodorant) and donations for the free yard sale. Hygiene kit collection begins November 6. Yard sale items can be brought starting next Sunday, November. 13.
AND…
That evening, we’ll gather here at Gateway (6 PM) for a totally family-friendly night of prayer, worship, baptism, communion, and celebration. We’ll look forward to seeing you here!
